Open Spaces

In Beirut city center, more than 60 squares and gardens are part of the 'green master plan'. The ones already open to the public include:

- Gibran Khalil Gibran garden in front of UN Plaza, featuring two circular spaces with a water fountain surrounded by trees, a bust of the poet, an abstract sculpture and six obelisks
- Bab Yacoub Square on Rue de l’Armée south of the Grand Serail
- Cascading green esplanade under the Grand Serail
- Omar Onsi garden under the Grand Serail with a sculpture of the artist depicted with his two pet gazelles
- Roman Baths restored site with terraced aromatic garden, a small amphitheater and a pedestrian area hosting open-air concerts and plays
- Landscaped CDR stairs
- Bab Idriss Square at the corner of Weygand and Patriarch Hoyek streets
- Riad El Solh Square, landscaped around the restored statue of the first prime minister of independent Lebanon
- Amir Amine Square with modular sculptured benches under the shade of a 120 years old ficus tree, surrounded by an area landscaped with trees and a water pool
- Samir Kassir Square in the Foch area, with a pool and a sculpture of the journalist
- Weygand street garden providing a visual link with the Municipality building and the Al Omari and Amir Assaf mosques
- Nejmeh Square
- Garden adjacent to Amir Munzer mosque
- Bazerkan Square next to Amir Munzer mosque
- Debbas Square featuring a blue colored aqueduct of modern design
- Saifi Square at the corner of Mkhallisiya and Said Akl streets
- Wadi Abou Jamil Square
- Omar Daouk Square featuring a bust of the first head of state (1918)
- Fouad Chehab garden south of Zokak El Blatt overlooking the city
- Garden adjacent to St Elias Maronite church
- Planet Discovery temporary garden

- Rafic Hariri memorial garden near Hadiqat As-Samah

- Khan Antoun Bey Square in Beirut North Souks
- Heritage Trail pedestrian circuit
- Castle Square on block 94, north Foch area, with the adjacent Castle Belvedere
- Harbor Square on block 93, north Foch area over part of the ancient harbor
- Rue de France temporary garden adjacent to Maghen Abraham Synagogue
- Wadi Abou Jamil block 63 square
- Wadi Abou Jamil Market Square next to Ahliah school
- Mina El Hosn Square in the Hotel District
- Old Shoreline Walk formed by a sequence of four connected spaces: All Saints’ Square, Shoreline Gardens, Zeitouneh Square and Santiyeh Garden with a garden in the name of Pope Jean-Paul II for a later phase
- Beirut Marina belvedere
- Waterside park, a 78,000-sq m park planned in the New Waterfront District
- Seaside promenade garden
- Martyrs’ Square axis open space corridor comprising the Square, the Phoenician glacis north of Cadmus street and Beirut port first basin quay and open spaces.
