Gibran Khalil Gibran Garden

Renamed Gibran Khalil Gebran garden after the Lebanese-American writer and artist of international renown, UN Plaza is an extensive open space of 6,000 sq m (65,000 sq ft). Its formal landscaping emphasizes its status as a main entrance to the city center. It features two circular lawns with trees around a water fountain and a platform looking out onto the garden and the UN House, with six obelisks completing the design. A bust of Gibran and an abstract sculptures, both by contemporary Lebanese artists, also adorn the square. Crowds gather daily to enjoy the garden, bringing their picnics, pushing baby carriages or watching their children play.
