Sea Corniche Promenade

The city center provides an uninterrupted 3.5-km (2.17 miles) extension of the Beirut shoreline, providing 4 times the area of the existing city corniche system once the Beirut Western Marina town quays, corniche promenade, Eastern Marina quayside and Beirut Port first basin promenade, are completed. The three-decked corniche promenade, over 1.3-km (0.8-mile) long with a width varying between 110 m and 45 m, will be a socially active pedestrian arena with views to the sea, the Jounieh bay and Mount Sannine. In addition to landscaped areas, it will contain 'activity cells' for sports and recreational uses, specially designed to accommodate temporary viewing stands during Formula One Grand Prix events.
